An internationally renowned e-comms/gifts brand is looking for a Facilities Assistant to attend their flagship site. The role with would be to assist in all areas of the delivery of Facilities service to flagship site as directed by the Facilities Health & Safety Manager.

The Facilities Assistant will be providing a first-class service and truly flexible multi skilled approach to the following areas:

  • To assist the Facilities health & Safety Manager on providing a safe, secure and high quality environment for our colleagues, contractors and visitors. The Facilities Assistant should ensure the site is compliant on all levels and that all of the services are run efficiently and effectively in order to provide the highest level of service possible
  • Assist in daily checks of the building and essential equipment
  • Assist in weekly testing of Fire alarm, water and emergency equipment
  • Ensure effective day to day running of the production site, essential services such as reception, security, cleaning & replenishing stock
  • Ensure appropriate security for the site such as security access control & CCTV monitoring to protect the employees, any other stakeholders and the business generally
  • Supervising and coordinating work of contractors to ensure minimum disruption to core activities & comply with Health & Safety regulation whilst on site
  • Assist in planned and reactive maintenance programs
  • Assisting in the planning of space and facilities requirements
  • Carry out / plan all small building works / projects/ repairs as required
  • Organise safety training such as first aiders. Fire marshals, etc.
  • Able to work outside normal hours including weekends to deal with emergencies and responding to calls outside normal working hours, setting and turning off alarms as required
  • Routine and constant housekeeping checks of building appearance and condition
  • To provide reception cover when required
  • Maintaining and updating Safety & facilities documents management system
  • Maintain regular consistent, flexible and professional attendance, (being willing to cover for annual leave of others, illness and peak demands)
  • General office duties - scanning, filling and ordering supplies
  • Other duties as assigned by The Facilities Health & Safety Manager

Person / Experience Required:

  • Demonstrate a positive can do approach to customer support and service
  • Will be straight forward, concise, helpful and in dealings with all customers, colleagues, contractors and visitors
  • Has a strong team ethos, personal drive and tenacity
  • Organised and structured in approach to manage multi tasks simultaneously
  • A self-motivated individual, with ability to work under own initiative, who can deliver high quality work without the need for supervision
  • Good level of practical skills and able to undertake manual work


  • Technical/Professional expertise required
  • Minimum 2 years’ industry experience, operating at similar level of responsibility
  • Member of BIFM
  • SIA Licence
  • Experience of building maintenance
  • Experience in management of security access control systems & CCTV monitoring
  • Good all round awareness of H&S
  • Good IT all-rounder with experience of using MS office, Excel and proprietary/bespoke packages
  • General DIY skills
  • Driving licence
  • NEBOSH certified - Desirable
  • Be prepared to learn and advance skills
  • Paying up to £25,000 p/a
