An opportunity has arisen for a Financial Reporting Manager to join a FTSE 100 listed professional services business within the team that focuses on technical accounting issues arising within the business, including providing advice and recommendations to senior leadership and liaising with external auditors. The role is ideally suited to someone wishing to make their first move out of an audit background into industry.

Client Details

This role sits within Global External Reporting Team in London and is part of the central finance function that supports the company across the globe. The team is responsible for preparing statutory accounts, including consolidations, for the UK division and Global entities. The team also provides technical accounting advice to global finance leadership in support of decisions impacting the company. The team's position within the global finance function gives team members exposure to senior management in the UK and globally and results in a variable and wide-ranging workload. The team is motivated, friendly and supportive and well-regarded within finance.

The successful candidate will not only be exposed and given the chance to influence very senior stakeholders in a FTSE 100 business - but additionally will sit within a large finance function that offers the chance to progress and be promoted from within.

Interpretation of circumstances and IFRS standards together with application of judgement to determine recommendations

Preparation of reports for senior management including making recommendations of proposed treatment

Liaison with a broad spectrum of other team members including tax, legal, internal technical experts and other internal functions

Analytic/decision making responsibilities:

Identification and resolution of IFRS technical accounting issues

Preparation of technical memos including liaison with auditors to ensure agreement on accounting treatments

Preparation/review of financial statement disclosures

Ad-hoc projects, analysis and reporting


Technically strong with excellent understanding of IFRS.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

*ACA/ACCA qualified and holds a Bachelors degree

*Must be able to communicate effectively across countries and with senior management

*Proactive, and can operate independently

*Good interpersonal skills with proven ability to build networks with a broad spectrum of other people

*Ability to influence and persuade

*Commercial awareness and appreciation of the impact of accounting decisions on other aspects of the business

*Ability and commitment to work under pressure, including willingness to longer hours at peak times

Job Offer

Salary is between £53k to £68k (+ additional benefits)
