Lead the OSS design, engineering and support teams and set OSS strategy within Arqiva, global Leader in Communications Infrastructure.

As OSS Manager, reporting to our Head of Applications Delivery, in a newly created role you’ll manage teams of engineers to design, build, commission, maintain and provide 24/7 operational support and access management for OSS. Setting the OSS Strategy to meet current and future business needs and ensuring its implementation to meet time, budget and quality goals, you’ll also align the engineering and operational support teams and encourage a collaborative working environment with skills and knowledge share and an effective 2nd, 3rd and 4th line support model, all the time driving team engagement. Engaging with key stakeholders to define requirements will enable you to forecast future skills and resource requirements across the function and plan and ensure resource availability to meet demand. You’ll also:

  • Drive the adoption and application of engineering standards
  • Manage the budget and financial performance
  • Identify and manage 3rd party suppliers, contractors and technology partners in partnership with the internal supply chain team

With an in-depth knowledge and experience of the design and delivery of OSS Systems and associated technologies, ideally for complex broadcast/telecommunications systems, you’ll be an excellent team manager able to deliver and support customer facing mission critical services operating in a 24x7 environment. Experienced delivering services within fixed budgets you’ll thrive setting strategy to meet business goals. Your knowledge of all phases of System Design Engineering including requirements definition, design assessment, installation and commission, optimisation and in-life support complements strong supplier and customer management with good customer facing skills. You can also bring:

  • Knowledge of Project Management methodologies/Prince2 knowledge
  • Working knowledge of ITIL v3 including incident, problem and change management
  • Good understanding of modern development and applications management tools and techniques.
