BI Analyst - Data Science, stats, analytical, SQL, economics - London - 60k

Expanding Global Ecommerce company seeking to recruit an experienced BI Analyst to join their team. This is a new role within their Commercial finance team so ideal for someone who wants to come in and make a difference. You will support the growth of businesses by working closely with trading, marketing, category and finance teams by providing insights that are timely, accurate, and actionable.

Duties include:

  • Ability to structure ambiguous problem statements and to source and combine disparate data sets to answer business questions;
  • Retrieve and analyse data using data extraction techniques (e.g. SQL queries). Learn and understand a broad range of their Group’s data resources and know how, when, and which to use.
  • Analyse data using a wide range of predictive and decision models and data mining techniques, as well as tools for developing such models;
  • Challenge existing BI processes and provide continuous improvement solutions;
  • Analyse customer behaviour in digital trading environment to support trading and product development teams;
  • Work with product managers to set, measure and report technical KPI’s once product development changes are live.

Looking for someone with similar experience with the following:

  • Excellent statistical and analytical abilities
  • Experience in machine learning and statistical modelling skills such as: linear regression, variable selection, multivariate analysis, forecasting time series, etc;
  • Track record of complex and creative problem-solving, and the desire to create and build new processes;
  • Experience building data models using Power BI platform.
  • An ability and passion for turning qualitative analysis and observations into diagnostics and metrics;
  • Knowledge of data modelling concepts, data warehouse and data aggregation processes and strategies
  • Ability to present findings in a variety of formats and explain technical results to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Deep knowledge of business intelligence solutions and data engineering practices as well as business acumen and ability to work with category and trading teams.
  • Self-starter comfortable with ambiguity, with strong attention to detail, an ability to work in a fast-paced and Successful candidate can prioritize well, communicate clearly, and have a consistent track record of delivery.
  • Advance Excel Skills (VBA is advantageous)
  • Good knowledge of SQL and Google Analytics - Desirable
