Lloyd Recruitment Services has an exciting job opportunity for an experienced sales professional to join a leading media and events company based in the East Grinstead, West Sussex area.

We are looking for a Business Development Manager to support the generation of media, awards and sponsorship revenue generation within this exciting and extremely successful portfolio. The job role is ideal for a Business Development Manager who is focused and motivated media and events sales professional with a proven track record of growing accounts and securing new business as well as managing a sales team.

** Salary basic £45-50K plus car allowance and commission

Duties and responsibilities will include:

  • To lead the sales team by example, fostering a collaborative culture of sales excellence that facilitates cross brand, multi-platform sales.
  • Devise a sales strategy
  • Meet and exceed personal and team targets by applying a solution led and consultative sales approach that results in high value deals.
  • Deliver accurate and timely management information and forecasting to the Sales Director
  • Manage, develop, motivate and mentor staff.

  • Keep up to date with the competition and industry developments
  • Work closely with the Key Account Managers to identify key account clients.
  • To work proactively with the Content Director to build a core group of strategic, high-value commercial 'strategic partners’

Skills and experience required for the Business & Development Manager job role:

  • Proven experience working in a similar role - proficiency should be in media, events sponsorship sales
  • A strong understanding of or background in both media and event sales
  • Ability to coach, manage and mentor teams; recruit, appraise and manage performance
  • Leads sales teams to success and meeting targets
  • Strategic thinking - develops, implements and measures a successful sales strategy
