About the role

The post-holder will primarily be responsible for the delivery of high quality consultancy, training, reporting and bespoke application and web development in the Further and Higher Education (FHE) UNIT-e Student Records and Tracking solution and associated products. Provide advice and guidance on best practice for implementing UNIT-e and work with staff at colleges and universities to ensure the UNIT-e is implemented and configured to best map to institutional processes and academic and business needs. The post-holder will have an understanding of the Further and/or Higher Education market sector.

Capita Further and Higher Education is a leading provider of Student Record Systems to the further and higher education sector in the UK. Due to continued business growth, we are looking to expand the consultancy team and are seeking an individual who is customer focussed, understands the education sector and has strong communication skills.

What you will do:

  • Provide timely, high quality and cost efficient consultancy and training services on UNIT-e Student Records System to customers as and where required

  • Liaise with Project Managers/Consultancy Manager on the specific requirements of the customer and to provide feedback on the outcomes of the consultancy/training

  • Support customers to make a smooth transition from their existing systems, applications, and processes to new tools and processes through implementation

  • Analyse customer requirements and produce high quality and cost efficient report writing services to customers as and where required

  • Undertake business process reviews and make recommendations to customers. Gather and document business requirements, discuss with clients, advising on the adoption of best practice

  • Analyse customer requirements and produce specifications for applications and web development work with estimates on delivery.

  • Configure client systems in alignment with client needs and provide training in the use and upkeep of applications and technologies.

  • Deliver timely, high quality and cost efficient application and web development service to customers as and where required.

  • Maintain an up to date knowledge of products and services related to the consultancy undertaken.

  • Liaise with the Product and Support desk within FHE as required.

  • The consultant will be required to work in accordance with the Capita FHE standards, procedures and guidelines

  • To identify opportunities for potential sale of FHE services and products and notify Product/Project/Client/Regional Manager as appropriate

Your experience will include:

ESSENTIAL

  • Understanding of relational database structures

  • Training skills

  • Technical analysis skills

DESIRABLE

  • Knowledge of Further and/or Higher Education student and staff data administration processes

  • Knowledge of Further and/or Higher Education statutory returns

  • Experience in using and deploying UNIT-e software

  • Experience in using Microsoft Reporting Services

  • Programming skills including C#/ASP.net, Java script, Responsive web design skills

  • Use of Visual Studio
