At Select Norwich we are currently recruiting for a Head Housekeeper on behalf of our client, a Luxury Country House Hotel based just outside of Ipswich. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work within a reputable business, managing the upkeep of 32 luxury rooms.

The Role

  • The Head Housekeeper will be responsible for ensuring that all bedrooms and public areas are always impeccable to meet AA standards
  • Manage the Housekeeping team by providing costed rotas to the General Manager each week, assessing progress and performance of staff and by planning staff recruitment to suit the needs of the business
  • Liaise with the Head Chef, F&B Managers, linen suppliers, cleaning suppliers, House and Sales Manager and Maintenance team to ensure the Hotel is ran smoothly and efficiently
  • Liaise daily with Reception in terms of special requirements for guests, lettings of bedrooms and out of order rooms
  • Spot check a minimum of 5 rooms daily to guarantee cleaning standards are consistently upheld
  • Aid with cleaning duties in order to cover staff shortages, holidays and sickness
  • The Head Housekeeper will be responsible for ensuring there is always a high level of service from the laundry suppliers and that there is always sufficient stock of linen, cleaning materials, toiletries etc., in order for turnaround of rooms to be quick and efficient
  • Always provide the highest level of customer service to all guests, making every stay memorable

Experience and Skills required

  • Experience within a similar establishment is essential
  • Excellent multitasker

Salary and Benefits

  • £19,000-20,000 salary (dependant on experience)
  • 40 hours per week across 5 days
  • Weekend work with no late shifts
