Social Care - Community Project Co-ordinator - 7 months contract, PART-TIME 30 Hrs PW

Job Summary:This is a unique opportunity- it is a PART-TIME (approx. 30 hours per week) 7 month contract with possible extension - it requires complete commitment throughout the project to coordinate the delivery of the needs of the project. This is supporting individuals and families who are involved in the Drug & Alcohol Parent Mentoring Service, also working with staff and volunteers to develop a mentoring offer, which meets the needs of participants in the programme, ensuring opportunities for service users involvement and peer mentoring remain integral to the programme.Main Duties:• To coordinate the delivery of mentoring services for individuals engaged in the programme across Milton Keynes and Buckinghamshire.• To be responsible for the recruitment, supervision and performance of a team of volunteer mentors.• To support the delivery of volunteer training events.• To provide quality oversight of the mentoring relationships within the service and promote the development of the volunteer team.• To maintain excellent working relationships with the team and professionals from partner agencies ensuring clear referral pathways and effective communication is in place at all times.• To oversee the development of professional, voluntary and peer networks which can help to expand the range of support and mutual aid activities our service users can participate in.• Attend family meetings; be understanding, supportive and respectful of all involved.• To ensure that the project promotes and reflects equality of opportunity and diversity at all levels.• Attend and represent the business at local events and partnership meetings.• To maintain highly effective administrative and reporting processes, including the collation of performance data.

Experience Required:

• Experience working within Health and Social care supporting vulnerable adults and children.• Experience within the social work arena will be advantageous.• Exposure supporting individuals with addition, involved in Drug & Alcohol rehabilitation programmes, crisis, complex needs or mental health issues.• Experience working with professional bodies, social workers, Local Authorities, Safeguarding teams and multi-agency relationships.

Personal Attributes:• Demonstrate a professional, calm and controlled communication manner.• Be confident dealing with delicate and challenging situations.• FULL clean driving licence and use of a car• Have a current DBS or happy to have a search completed.• Have a confident and assertive attitude towards the responsibilities and tasks required.• Be able to manage difficult situations with at all levels and complexity.
