My client is recruitng for an IT Field Engineer who has experience in supporting multiple customer sites for all round IT problems and installations. Applicants must have experience in supporting Microsoft Windows Servers, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft SQL, Microsoft Desktop Operating Systems and Microsoft Office.

Must have considerable experience installing / migrating Microsoft server systems. Must also have a good working knowledge of networking infrastructure and be competent at supporting and installing switches, routers, firewalls. Experience of security applications and backup procedures are also a must. Virtualisation experience using Vmware / Hyper V essential.

Experience with Unix, Programming languages, Microsoft Sharepoint, Sage and Pegasus are all advantageous. Strong Microsoft Access programming knowledge is highly desirable.

Applicants must have their own car and full driving licence. Mileage allowance will be paid along with the salary.

Primary Objectives

  • To ensure customers IT requirements are fulfilled efficiently and within agreedSLAs.
  • To ensure maximum customer service levels at alltimes.
  • Customer Service Level Agreements are 100%maintained.
  • To uphold company image of professionalism, courtesy andefficiency.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Attending customers sites to service or repair hardware and software faults
  • Attending customers sites for proactive duties-performing security updates/site surveys etc
  • Installations at customer premises of servers / PCs /peripherals
  • Ensuring that care is taken when handling customers equipment including prevention of theft and damage when not on company property
  • To carry out all work in a polite and professional manner
  • Inform sales staff of any possible sales leads and hand out company brochure when required
  • To ensure all relevant paperwork (FER) is fully completed
  • Payment from work completed is handed into the office at the earliest convenience
  • To ensure that no viruses spread from customer equipment to company equipment and vice-versa
  • To be familiar with the company Health and Safety Policy
