Bistrot Pierre prepares, cooks and serves provincial French dishes using fresh and seasonal ingredients and regularly changing menus.

We currently have a portfolio of 18 restaurants nationally, with ambitious plans for expansion, creating plenty of opportunity for career progression for those who seek to continue to grow their skills and position within the company.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, helpful, committed Head Chef for our Derby Restaurant, someone who is already proven and experienced as a Head Chef, but who still wants to learn, is ambitious and has a sense of hard work and fun.

Most importantly, you will enjoy working with and maintaining a high level of energy, as this will be a very fast paced kitchen environment. Our Derby team typically cater for covers of approximately 70 over a relatively quiet lunchtime service up to approximately 280 covers during a busy lunchtime, evening or weekend service. You will be taking on the responsibility of a busy kitchen but the requirements are simple, you will need to love cooking, but also be happy working from predominantly predefined menus. In addition, you must have previous management experience and be resourceful and ambitious.

As the Head Chef you would be responsible for running the well looked after kitchen and your primary job would also include supervising and coaching junior chefs to ensure they are working effectively. Working closely as part of the wider restaurant and bar service teams, with the General Manager and with the rest of the front of house, consistency and quality of food along with hitting our targets are crucial factors to succeed in this role. This position would require a responsible individual with good attention to detail and strong organizational and supervisory skills. You will be responsible for a team of chefs and kitchen porters. Basic Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook knowledge is also desirable.
