Technical Support Engineer (2nd - 3rd line support)
My client is an expanding, Suffolk based company providing IT support and telecoms services to clients in the East Anglia region. They have a fantastic opportunity for an IT Support Analyst to join their growing team to provide 2nd and 3rd line support to their client base. As the first point of contact with their customers, the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate strong communication skills, be courteous and patient with users at all levels. The ability to explain technical problems to non-technical users is essential. Support is provided mostly via remote access and over the telephone, but site visits will also be required from time to time so a full driving license and own vehicle is essential. This is an excellent opportunity to develop a career in IT and play an essential role in this small but talented team. My client needs someone who has solid commercial experience within IT support, and experience of working for an IT support provider. Longer term, there may be an opportunity to progress to a pre-sales technical consultant position which will include a company vehicle.
Essential Skills: Active Directory including Group Policy, Microsoft Exchange Server (2010-2016), Inc Office 365 and Exchange Online Understanding of NTFS Security permissions, local and domain security policies. Windows 7, 8 and 10 Windows Server 2008, 2008 R2, 2012, 2012 R2 Microsoft Hyper-V Server MS Office 2007-2016 A good understanding of network topology including firewalls, routers, Switches Hardware repairs Internet services, SMTP, DNS, HTTP, HTTPS, IMAP, VPN Accurate recording of incidents on support ticket management system and maintenance of customer records. Good understanding of proper security practices.
