Occupational Health Technician - South Wales Based with some travel - Permanent

An excellent opportunity to join a fast growing, forward thinking Occupational Health company based in South Wales.

The Occupational Health Technician will be based primarily in the Neath or Newport clinic, however travel to client’s sites will be required, in the South Wales area and UK wide with regular overnight stays. The right person will need to be a confident and competent driver, willing to travel to many parts of the UK in our 3.5 ton mobile clinic. The Technician, working under the supervision of the Nursing and Physician team will be required to undertake a variety of key tasks as outlined below:

  • Conducting Health Surveillance, including but not limited to the following; Audiometry, Spirometry, Blood Pressure, HAVS and Vision Screening.
  • Undertaking a range of safety critical assessments
  • Conducting chain of custody Drug and Alcohol testing
  • Conducting well being clinics
  • Assessing the workplace for potential Occupational health problems and presenting those findings to the operations manager/ client
  • Contributing to accident follow up
  • Maintaining health records
  • Keeping up to date with professional changes associated with Occupational Health practice
  • Other duties from time to time, as required

Person Specification:

  • The ability to work in a professional manner at all times and work to the highest standards.
  • A good work ethic, a good team player and a willingness to learn
  • Hold a qualification in occupational health desirable but not essential as full training will be given.
  • A confident and competent driver with a full clean UK driving licence and be able to drive a 3.5 ton vehicle.
  • Have a flexible attitude towards working hours and locations as these may change to meet our clients. requirements
  • Be computer literate and able to keep accurate records and reporting systems.

In return we can offer the right candidate an excellent opportunity to learn new skills within this varied and exciting role. Full training and support will be given. Salary 18-22k plus £50 per night out allowance.
