Located in the heart of London's esteemed medical district, the newly-refurbished Princess Grace Hospital offers a wide range of medical and surgical specialties. Supported by world-class doctors from leading London teaching hospitals, the hospital has 129 beds, including a purpose-built intensive care unit, catering for Level 3 patients. Our eight fully-equipped theatres include three laminar flow theatres for orthopaedic surgery, a hybrid theatre to enable complex vascular surgery, a robotic surgery suite along with some of the most advanced radiological diagnostic facilities in the country.

Job Description

To provide business analysis support to the Senior Management Accountant and Chief Finance Officer (CFO). Assisting in budgeting and forecasting as well as providing hospital managers and the Finance Team with accurate and timely financial and statistical information.

Salary between £26,809 and £32,828 plus HCA benefits

Working hours, 37.5 per week - Monday - Friday 9am - 5:30pm

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide detailed and accurate business analysis to the Finance Team and Senior Hospital Management
  • Support the Senior Management accountant in the completion of the weekly hospital forecast and yearly budget
  • Lead the Finance Team in the management of capital requests
  • Lead the Finance Team in the completion of financial audit and compliance work throughout the hospital
  • Assist hospital managers in the completion of business cases and capital projects
  • Assist the Finance Team in the month end process
  • Assist in the production of monthly management reports
  • Deal with queries from key stakeholders including Consultants, Secretaries, suppliers
  • Contribute to the development of the service through suggestions for improvement and service development
  • Undertake all duties in line with departmental policies and procedures

Skills & Experience

  • Educated to degree level, preferably in a numerate discipline
  • Must be in the early stages of working towards a recognised Accountancy Qualification e.g. ACCA, CIMA or AAT
  • Computer literate including a very strong knowledge of excel
  • Recent experience in Private Healthcare beneficial but is not essential
