Principal JavaScript Developer, Node + AI/Data Engineering & React+Redux

Do you want to drive technology in one of the best positioned start-ups in London? Do you want to push the boundaries of what is possible with Node.js?

We are searching for a Principal JavaScript Developer to join a heavily funded (recent £8m+ Series B), and already profitable, Cloud start-up who are using technology to revolutionise direct customer communications on a global scale.

You will be one of 2 Principal Engineers in the business working with the team to form a coherent vision for platform architecture, upskill each member to your level and provide R&D into new technology and approaches to ensure you are staying on the cutting edge of what is possible and maintaining the companies significant competitive advantage.

Full Stack with a weighting towards Node and Data Engineering your hands-on work will be across multiple product squads further scaling their core Node platform as well as creating consumer, and B2B, facing Front End apps in React+Redux, a Live chat system (currently with 150K users at its peak) and AI powered Data Science tools which are integrated back into the core products.

Teams are flat structured and focused around solving specific problems. That said, engineers are free to move between those teams (within reason) and the overall goal is a too have a truly cross functional group that can solve problems across their whole stack.

Your goal is to make sure teams, and individuals, are technically capable of doing this and the software they deliver is as bulletproof.

There is NO CEILING for progression as a hands-on engineer here.

What they are looking for from you:

Expert JavaScript Engineer (ES6/ES2015+)
Experience building API's in Node.js
Experience building SPA's (ideally with React)
Comfortable working with large amounts of Data
Experience in the Cloud (AWS, G Cloud or Azure) and DevOps
Passion for TDD and Agile but not stuck in your ways
Experience identifying problems/opportunities and creating plans/teams to solve them

Robust, fault tolerant and complex Node engineering

Team organisation, Product Management and technology strategy
AI - integrate Machine and Deep learning tools into products
