This role presents an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to lead, mentor and build a new research function within the group and have strong input into the strategic direction of the function within the group.

This pivotal role will be highly visible within company up to executive level and also within the client community who will be one of the primary audiences of research materials generated by the team.

The Head of Research will further be responsible for recruiting and building this new team, with the guidance of the Director of Research & Analytics to define a suitable team structure and for implementing research initiatives with clearly defined outcomes for the business and its clients.

Main Duties:

+ Definition of and planning of research initiatives and campaigns
+ Development of research papers for the FM, Property and other industries as required
+ Focus on thought leadership within the FM and Property industries
+ External and competitor research to aid the company's competitive advantage in the industry
+ Mentoring junior members of the team
+ Contributing to team strategy for the Research & Analytics function
+ Client liaison where required alongside the businesses management consultancy and analytics team
+ Selection of and engagement with 3rd party research partners
+ Preparation of and writing copy for blogs, social posts as well as formal research papers and opinion pieces

Key Skills

+ 5+ years experience working within a corporate research function
+ Management experience of at least 2 years essential
+ Experience of the Facilities Management or Property industry highly preferred
+ Excellent written language skills are a pre-requisite
+ Articulate with the ability to present to a senior stakeholder level
+ A working knowledge of current industry trends and 'hot topics'
+ A conceptual understanding of IoT and connected workspace technologies
+ Experience working with 3rd parties in a development environment
+ Experience of presenting to senior stakeholders, both internal and client-side
+ Absolute eye for detail in terms of accuracy of information
+ Ability to drive change and develop with customer & business needs
+ Degree educated with specific research or industry qualifications an advantage
