A well-established and reputable retailer with a rare opportunity for a Haberdashery and Craft Buyer to join their established team of Buyers. Situated in Birmingham with excellent transport links, they are an innovative and established business who are constantly growing.
Your new role
In your new role you will utilise your retail buying experience to plan and select a range of products to be sold via multiple channels to market. Accountable for maximising profits and providing commercially viable ranges, you will source new merchandise and review existing items in a bid to ensure the company remains ahead of the game. You will select the best products by taking into consideration customer demand, price, quality and availability. Day-to-day responsibilities will include, analysing the market and predicting trends, presenting new ranges, creating and participating in promotional activities, attending trade fairs and meeting suppliers to discuss and negotiate terms. You will have the support of a Buying Admin to assist you in your range building.
What you'll need to succeed
You should have demonstrable experience at Buyer level combined with experience in managing complex supply processes across a large number of SKUs. With a commercial and creative eye for product, you will have the ability to interpret trends to strengthen the brand. As well as this, you will have a proven track record in delivering high quality (exceeding both internal and external customers' expectations) and successfully negotiating with suppliers from the UK and Far East. Category experience, or deep personal interest, in Haberdashery, Sewing, Quilting, or Arts and Craft products will serve you well.
