Excellent opportunity to work for a global blue chip organisation within their South Wales facility. The Process Control and Automation Engineer will report in to an Engineering Manager onsite and work as part of a multi-skilled maintenance team to respond to any breakdowns onsite and work towards minimising downtime through planned preventative maintenance. The role is part of the central engineering support function and does involve hands on work and the successful Electrical Engineer will receive an exceptional benefits package including final salary pension, Private Medical for yourself and your family, Life Assurance and a Group Share Save Scheme.

The role is based on days working Monday to Friday although working outside of these hours may be required on occasion and there is an allowance built in to the salary to accommodate this.

As the Process Control and Automation Engineer your duties will include:

  • Carrying out reactive maintenance work to ensure that downtime is kept to a minimum and has as little impact on production output as possible
  • Working to a planned preventative maintenance schedule to create as high a level of reliability within the plant that can be achieved
  • The Electrical Engineer will undertake fault finding with PLC systems
  • Maintenance of instrumentation (level, flow, pressure, temperature, etc.)
  • Working collaboratively with other disciplines to ensure tasks are completed on time and with the highest level of quality
  • The Process Control and Automation Engineer will be responsible for the update and upkeep of maintenance records for future reference
  • Ensure that Health & Safety standards are adhered to within the team.

To be a successful Process Control and Automation Engineer you will have the following skills and experience:

  • Experience within a manufacturing / process driven environment
  • The ability to undertake basic fault finding and repair of manufacturing equipment
  • Fault finding ability with PLC systems (Siemens and Allen Bradley)
  • Maintenance experience of instrumentation

In return the Process Control and Automation Engineer will receive a salary of £34,500 - £39,500 (dependent on experience - including flexible working allowance) + final salary pension, private medical, etc.
