The SalaryFinance Systems Administrator relishes the opportunity to implement, configure and maintain robust systems. Most importantly, as we are dealing with our customer’s hard-earned money, the Systems Administrator mitigates tech risk wherever it is and has a thorough understanding of information security.

We would really like to have a keen and proactive technologist in this role. Working together with the Technology Operations Manager, you will hold the pivotal role of sourcing, building and configuring enterprise level solutions and processes for SalaryFinance. The Systems Administrator will have the autonomy to bring automation and innovation to a growing technology estate, most importantly ensuring that the Organisation’s platforms and services operate efficiently at all times. As an ISO 27001 certified Organisation, you will need to understand the need for policies and controls, and see the critical importance in maintaining information security at all levels of the business.

Key Tasks:

The Systems Administrator will be in charge of administering the Organisation’s domain, network, and services as well as the SalaryFinance Platform security groups & permissions. This will involve the ownership of administration, maintenance, and support of all servers, laptops, mobiles, services and applications. In order to operate and administer technology in a controlled manner the Systems Administrator will document and own all key operational procedures and policies in a technology operations manual.

The Systems Administrator will have an in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server environments (2012 R2) including Active Directory, Group Policy, IIS, Remote Desktop Services etc. Having previously worked with various web and database technologies the Systems Administrator will have demonstrable IIS, MS SQL, and MySQL management and tuning experience. As a small team you will work with just about everyone in the organisation, as well as third parties on a daily basis. This will include SalaryFinance’s developers and hosting service provider, to do this effectively you will need to have a clear understanding of web apps, networking and security related principles and protocols; TCP/IP, DNS, SFTP, SSL/TLS, routing, switching, load balancing etc.

We use G Suite (previously known as Google for Work) for email and productivity applications, the System Administrator will be a quick learner, and if not already familiar with cloud platforms such as G Suite, will be able to learn quickly documenting procedures as required. We operate over two data centres, one primary/production data centre and another secondary/recovery data centre. The Systems Administrator will work across both data centres with the Technology Operations Manager ensuring that all systems are synchronised and that regular disaster recovery testing is carried out.

In the role of Systems Administrator you will work as part of the SCRUM team on specifying requirements and technical design for bugs, features, projects, and products, using and administering Atlassian JIRA throughout. We have a dedicated QA Manager and as part of the testing process you will work with her on stress and capacity testing, and where necessary tuning or increasing resources.
