UX/UI Designer - Manchester - £30-40k

My international client is currently recruiting for an experienced and talented UX/UI Designer to join their growing agile team consisting of Developers, UX Designers and UI Designers. Based in my client's head office in Manchester, you will design and shape unique, user-centric products and experiences.

My client is looking for somebody who always puts the needs of the end user at the heart of everything they do - making the most complex of tasks as simple as possible, through beautifully crafted interfaces and micro-interactions. The successful candidate will be able to follow and refine styles / patterns and to translate any given user-experience journey into a smooth and intuitive interaction.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

Reporting to the UX Lead, you will:

-Be a great team player, experienced in working with agile teams.
-Be able to collaborate closely with developers, PMs, BAs, BIs and fellow UX / UI designers.
-Create, improve and use wireframes, prototypes, style guides, user flows, and effectively communicate your interaction ideas using any of these methods.
-Be able to make design decisions based on the overall product roadmap as well as work to with style-guides, patterns, typography, etc.
-Make recommendations for improvements to any aspect of the User Journey
-Continually keep yourself and your fellow team members updated with the latest changes in industry's standards.
-Ensure your designs work across different devices (desktop, tablet, smartphone, smartwatch, smartTV)
-Confidently present your designs, either one-to-one with the UX Lead or to different product team members and stakeholders

Accountable for?

The design of simple and elegant user experiences and user interfaces, together with the creation of digital assets, UX / UI prototypes and UI boards for internal (peers) and external (TCs) validation - ensuring consistency across all channels.

Essential Skills

-Three or more years of experience and proven track record.
-Strong portfolio to be presented during interview.
-Hands-on experience creating wireframes, prototypes, storyboards, user flows, etc.
-Experience using tools such as Photoshop, XD (or Sketch), Illustrator and InVision.
-Understanding of basic front-end languages: HTML5, CSS3, Bootstrap and Angular JS.
-A collaborative designer with creative ideas and a problem-solving mindset.
-Experience working:
in an agile / scrum development environment;
on Cloud-based Enterprise systems;
across different devices - a distinct advantage!
