Position Overview

The IT Technical Support Engineer will join my client’s Enterprise Technical Support Team which supports their EMEA based customers.

You will be responsible for taking on tricky technical challenges and have to use your complex IT troubleshooting skills to help their customers and partners find possible solutions. There is no technical ceiling on this opportunity as you will own cases from initial pick up all the way up to working with their development team.

My client are looking for an Engineer who wants to take that next step in their career as they will plan to get you skilled up and progress into one of their five 3rd Line Back Line Support Teams. The Back Line Teams are specialists within their product but have their own additional specialisations including Cloud Virtualisation, Storage, Messaging, Server and Unix/DB.

Required Skills

  • Experience working in a Technical Support or Systems Administrator based role, where have gained strong IT troubleshooting skills!
  • Has a problem-solver mentality and a real passion for solving tricky and complex IT issues
  • Has strong organisation skills where you are able to manage multiple technical cases at once and have the ability to think quickly on your feet in a fast paced and dynamic environment!
  • Experience troubleshooting or administrating Windows Server 2008/2012 upwards
  • Experience troubleshooting Active Directory, DNS and DHCP
  • Experience troubleshooting or administrating at least ONE of the following technical areas:

o VMWare or Hyper-V

o Exchange, SharePoint or Lotus Notes

o SQL Server

o NetApp, EMC/Dell, HP or IBM Storage

o Backup Software (Such as CommVault, NetBackup, Veeam, Evault etc…)

o Oracle, Sybase, DB2 or Informix DB.
