Our client, an IT Services provider, is recruiting for a Junior Service Desk Engineer. This will be based from their office in Central London.

Role: Junior Service Desk Engineer

Salary: up to £20kpa

Location: Holborn, London

They are looking for an enthusiastic Junior Service Desk Engineer with ambition and drive to learn more about resolving 1st line problems to join our vibrant Service Desk Team. This is an exciting opportunity, for the right candidate to play a key role in the ongoing support and development of our client.


  • Resolve any client problems predominantly 1st line issues
  • Ensure your service desk calls are owned and brought to a conclusion
  • Maintain a positive working relationship with clients at all times to promote our excellent service
  • Be responsible for meeting specific service level agreements
  • All on site queries must be logged appropriately onto the system
  • Ensure that all work undertaken in respect of problems are fully and promptly documented on the system
  • Ensure that relevant and current information is documented in the client technical configuration folder
  • Ensure that correct procedures are consistently followed
  • Provide technical service desk support as appropriate to all clients
  • Ensure high standards of customer services are maintained

The service desk team currently provides support to systems and infrastructure within the legal sector throughout the UK. A broad IT skill set is required with specific knowledge in the following being essential.

  • LAN / WAN / Wireless / VPN
  • Network Switches and Patching
  • Hyper-V and Virtual Environments
  • Terminal Servers / RDS Servers
  • Computer Hardware Issues
  • Server Hardware Issues
  • Computer Encryption
  • Antivirus Software
  • Printers and Photocopiers
  • Installation of network printers
  • IPhone / Blackberry / IPAD
  • SonicWALL / Net Extender
  • Proof Point / Message Labs / Mimecast

Desirable Experience:

  • Administer Exchange Servers
  • Troubleshoot Mail Flow Issues
  • Active Directory (Administration)
  • Troubleshoot and Diagnose Network Issues
  • Troubleshoot Computer Hardware Issues
  • Troubleshoot Printers
  • Experience working in a Managed Services Environment
  • Experience working with MAC’s
  • AVAYA Telephone Systems
  • Office 365 Services
