Network Operations Centre Controller - Central London - £40k - £50k + BENEFITS

Some shift work (inc overtime and nightshifts) will be required for this role. 12 hour shifts on a 2 day/2 night/4off roster.

You will join the team of Network Operations Centre (NOC) controllers, responsible for 24/7 operations of the Core Network and Datacentre operations.

As a Network Operations Centre Controller / NOC Controller, your main duties will be:

* Monitor and react to system alarms, follow service restoration procedures and logging any issues raised by customers.

* Escalate service related issues (Proactive or reactive) to the relevant 3rd line support teams.

* Minimise any possible service outage.

* Issue appropriate notifications to other internal groups as well as customers

* Perform regular/routine checks on all systems and services to ensure their reliability

* Provide feedback on any operational issues to other controllers, NOC support engineers and manager.

* Contribute on keeping up to date procedures / documentation and contact details

* Participate in network activities coordination, especially if these are real time activities, emergency, short notice or out the working hours.

* For all customer enquires (direct or through customer services) provide prompt and professional response in compliance with the associated SLAs as these are defined

* Follow up the progress of the case until its resolution by using the appropriate tools (MS Dynamics)

* Participate to daily NOC briefings

To be successful for the Network Operations Centre Controller / NOC Controller role, you need the following skills / experience:


* Good understanding of Core network technologies

* Knowledge of Switching and Routing technologies

* Server / Virtualization (VMware) operations

* An understanding basic SAN Storage deployments

* Knowledge of Security based firewall devices

* Experience in Operational environment

* Practical hands on experience with Linux operating systems

* Technical education in electronics and / or telecommunications.

Any of the following is desirable, but NOT essential:

* CCNP Cisco certified

* Past experience on shift working pattern

* Fluency in one or more foreign languages

* Experience with mobile network and user terminals

* An understanding of Oracle Database troubleshooting.
