A leading technical engineering & technology business with more than 2000+ employees. The organisation boasts a number of well recognised clients within the engineering, technology sectors and currently recruiting for a Supplier Development Engineer.

The Supplier Development Engineer will be supporting supply chain improvement activities across numerous projects. As a Supplier Development Engineer you will be responsible for the quality of purchased parts from supplier and projects you are assigned to.

Experience of NPI and/or Supplier Quality Assurance or a similar role where skills can be transferred into the Supply Chain. Preferably within automotive sector but other industries would be considered.

Supplier Development Engineer will be part of the supply chain function reporting directly to the Supply Chain Manager

Role - Supplier Development Engineer
Type - Permanent
Salary - £30,000 - £40,000
Location - Leamington Spa, Warwickshire

Key responsibilities for Supplier Development Engineer but not limited to:
* Driving and monitoring performance with suppliers
* Identify and delivering cost saving initiative based on improved productivity and processes within the Supply Chain
* Management of supplier quality performance
* Support and deliver outsourcing activities from in-house manufacturing to an external supply chain
* Supplier identification and approval working in conjunction with Procurement
* Supplier quality assurance activities within the supply chain - APQP, PPAP, IMDS and Supplier assessment audits
* Working closely with procurement, design and system engineers to ensure parts are designed for manufacture and commercially optimised
* Problem resolution of parts quality issues working with suppliers

Key skills and experience required for Supplier Development Engineer:
* Knowledge of automotive technology and product development
* Excellent problem solving skills
* Quality systems, quality tools & techniques
* Excellent communication skills and ability to present effectively with suppliers and clients at all levels
* Knowledge of IATF 16949 - Preferred, however not essential
