My client, a successful Insurance company based in Redhill are looking for a Senior Underwriting Account Manager to join their team on a full time, permanent basis.

Job Summary
Under general supervision, works in partnership with the Business Insurance leadership team to :

Make sound underwriting decisions through the life cycle of the policy utilising technical information and marketing intelligence.

Support the Field Offices in the delivery of their Strategic Plans for Renewals, targeted Rate and Retention plans across all products.

Ensure all related support activities are delivered in a manner consistent with business unit internal and external service standards.

Provide technical oversight for the Small Business team, working in collaboration with the Regional Underwriting Officer and Chief Underwriting Officer to ensure underwriting standards are met and any changes are implemented in the team.

Act as a technical Underwriting referral resource for the Small Business team on more complex accounts, endorsements and issues.

Support the Underwriter Level review programme for the Small Business team.

Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities
Responsible for ensuring compliance with Small Business Broker SOP, underwriting strategies and regulatory requirements within the Small Business renewals team.

Actively participates and supports Field Offices in the renewal and mid-term alteration activities (i.e., identify/gather relevant account information to quote and / or bind the policy create underwriting exhibits, etc.) that support underwriting decisions, consistent with business unit growth and retention goals.
Participates in pre-renewal meetings with the Business Insurance leadership team, understanding the strategy for delivery through the team.
Prepares underwriting/pricing exhibits (i.e., exposures, rating, claims analysis, expense models, updated account information, etc.).
Manages account documentation (i.e., quotations, actuarial pricing models, reinsurance contracts, endorsements, cancellations, etc.).
Ensures accurate and timely servicing and debiting of accounts and assists credit control with premium collection as required.
Communicates with brokers/agencies, insureds/customers and internal departments. (i.e., researches and resolves issues, responds to enquiries and questions).
Quotes accounts and mid-term adjustments .
Leads/supports group training sessions including the preparation of training materials.

In accordance with own underwriting authority ensure the timely completion of renewals under the direction of the Regional Underwriting Officer, and Chief Underwriting Officer.

Provides underwriting support and other related services as necessary (e.g., input account information into system).
Other duties as assigned.

Where role leads others:
Collaborates with the Service Centre Director on the training and development plans for new hires.
Assists the Service Centre Director in the production and analysis of Management Information and Service delivery using Pipeline reports/Monthly Operations Performance Summary etc., making recommendations where appropriate.
Manages the Small Business Renewals team, including training and coaching, interim reviews and year end reviews, objective setting and individual development plans.
Represents the Service Centre Director in meetings when Service Centre Director is unable to attend (Monthly Operating Reviews/Projects etc.).

Education, Work Experience & Knowledge
Proven experience in Underwriting. General knowledge of Property and Casualty Insurance.
