Project Manager

About the role

We are looking for two Project Managers to be responsible for coordinating the supply chain within Capita and the scope and outputs of the consultant disciplines, and procuring external surveys and consultant advice as required.

About Capita

Re (Regional Enterprise Limited) is a joint venture between the London Borough of Barnet and Capita to run the Council's development and regulatory services for the next ten years. The JV went 'live' on 1st October 2013 and will deliver growth in the Borough and develop a new and exciting consultancy business, which will supplement the core activities.

What you will do:

  • To ensure that all project management documentation meets the required quality standards as outlined in the Barnet toolkit

  • To plan the project, agree the plan with project board, and prepare detailed plans for each stage

  • To manage the project on a day to day basis

  • To identify and acquire required resources

  • To execute the plan, monitor progress and take the necessary corrective action

  • To report progress at agreed intervals to the project board, advising the board immediately if plan tolerance levels are exceeded

  • To identify and manage project risks

  • To manage the expectations of the business areas

  • To identify, define and manage delivery of project benefits

Your experience will include:

  • Detailed knowledge of project methodology

  • Detailed knowledge of project planning processes and techniques

  • Knowledge of potential sources of risk, trade-off options and their impact on project success

  • Understanding of change management

  • Understanding of RIBA stages and managing a wide range of consultants

  • Previous experience of managing a range of projects

  • Previous experience of managing a variety of senor stakeholder groups across a complex stakeholder landscape

  • Experience of developing and of working within a structured programme & project management framework

  • Experience of successfully managing programme and project risks and issues and understanding the impact of uncertainty on the programme or project

  • Experience of managing budgets to time, cost and quality requirements

  • Experience with Local Authorities/Public Sector (preferred)

  • Experience in delivering client side activities on projects (preferred)
