The purpose of the role is to actively manage the letting of vacant units, working closely with the Leasing, Commercialisation and Asset Management teams in order to deliver the portfolio business targets and achieve vacancy targets. To improve the quality of temporary lettings across the portfolio and to seek out new opportunities, such as popups.

Job Description

Meet vacancy targets

  • Help deliver the UK Shopping Centre vacancy rate via temporary lettings within the UK portfolio
  • Create and manage the short term letting options - maximising and generating new income and costs, delivering new quality retailers to the portfolio
  • Ensure adherence to the milestones within the asset management Business Plan to ensure income targets also met
  • Attend Leasing team meetings on a weekly basis and monthly asset leasing meetings on a rolling basis

Renew Temporary Lettings

  • Manage lease expiry profile of temporary lets

Converting Temporary Lettings to Permanent Lettings

  • Liaise with Leasing team to identify opportunities to convert temporary lettings within portfolio, to permanent lettings in accordance with the UK Shopping Centre Business targets

Leasing/Commercialisation Strategy

  • Assist leasing team to develop and deliver 'backup’ plan for failing retailers
  • Liaise with the Commercialisation team to identify and introduce appropriate new retailers


  • Keep up to date and accurate schedule of vacancies & forecasting tool for half year/year end vacancy
  • Work on developing a report in Salesforce that can automatically produce this
  • Support Asset Manager/Leasing Executive in producing Business Plan assumptions
  • Compare proposed lettings to business plan and be able to articulate variances

The Person - Qualifications, experience & skills

1-2 years’ experience in a similar role which has provided the transferable skills to have the following:

  • Educated to degree level
  • Ability to negotiate
  • Basic financial acumen
  • Confidence and clarity regarding your communication style
  • Ability to influence across different sectors of the business and at different levels
  • Customer focused
  • Drive to improve

Desired but not essential:

  • Track record of delivery against budget
  • Ability to influence multiple stakeholders
  • Exposure to shopping centre environment in a management role
