Your job

We have recently registered a fantastic Assistant Accountant position at a busy accountancy firm in South Oxfordshire. Working with a small team, you will be responsible for supporting the firm's clients with their accountancy needs with a particular focus on VAT and tax processes. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

• Preparation of statutory accounts for a range of service users
• Completion of VAT returns from client records
• Preparing Corporation Tax and personal tax returns
• Liaising with clients, including details of year-end adjustments
• Assisting and supervising junior staff
• Regular reporting to Directors

Job requirements

The successful candidate will ideally be AAT qualified or with the ambition to gain this qualification. It is essential that you have previous experience of working in an accountancy practice and have knowledge of basic income tax, corporate tax and VAT returns. Good communication skills, an excellent phone manner and customer service are very important along with a great ability to multi-task with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail as you will be handling multiple client accounts.
