Pastry CHef - Boutique Hotel
Our client, a Boutique Hotel collection located throughout the Southern counties is currently searching for a Pastry Chef to join an already established team in its busy kitchen.
This 4* award winning hotel boasts 38 bedrooms, 2 restaurants and wedding facilities and is set amongst 15 acres of gardens within the rolling Kent countryside.
The role; Reporting to the Executive Chef you will be leading the pastry section with the support of an Apprentice Chef. The kitchen is made up of 14 chefs and 4 kitchen porters.
Responsibilities include: Ordering and stock control for the section, Designing intricate plated deserts to a 3 rosette standard, Baking bread and Danish pastries, Ability and technical skill in chocolate and sugar work, Great detail and organisational skills, Be involved in the continued evolution of the afternoon tea menu, Produce plated desserts for all menus to a 3 rosette standard, Supervision of Apprentice Chef to achieve consistent standards.
Requirements; The ideal candidate would be someone who has held a similar role in a quality environment or an experienced Assistant Pastry Chef in a larger quality operation. You will be expected to demonstrate your ability during a trail showing including contributing ideas to the senior team.
Salary; £25,000 p/a (Neg), 4 weeks holiday + 8 bank holidays, Free car parking, Uniform provided plus a host of extra benefits following completion of your 3-month probation.
