Our client is a small independent run hotel located five minutes from Edinburgh city centre. 
This small hotel has 11 rooms and can accommodate up to 70 people. It also has a busy bar area which hosts live music of a weekend and a kitchen area run separately serving bar meals daily. 

They are looking to recruit an enthusiastic person with drive and passion in this ambitious company with big plans for the future. 

The role is very hands on and would suit someone who likes to be kept busy throughout the day with great variety in their work. You will be managing a small team of 5-6 staff and report directly into the managing director. 

Salary is between 23-24k per year, shifts are five days from seven with hours normally being between 7.30am - 4.30pm. They are looking for someone for an immediate start however could wait for the right person. 

The role will involve various aspects including:

- Ensuring all weekly paperwork is completed along with staff rota's
- Ensure all banking is done daily and correctly including daily safe checks
- Placing change orders with the bank
- Serving customers food and drink in the bar area and ensuring that high standards of customer service are maintained
- Orangise and advertise live music events, comedy night and quizzes which will involve researching and recruiting new talent
- Gain feedback from customers regarding the hotel accommodation and food
- Cleaning of beer lines
- Ensure monthly stock takes are carried out and stock rotation
- Carry out hotel bedroom inspections
- Take hotel reservation inquiries, reply to emails and liaise with the hotel revenue manager
- Deal with customer complaints
- Meet and greet guests
- Assist with laundry and cleaning duties, preparing breakfast when required
- Recruit and train staff
- Help devise marketing strategies 
- Attend weekly hotel meeting with the company director
- Ensure all KPI's are met

- Friendly, outgoing and energetic with real enthusiasm for working in the hospitality industry
- Have a good understanding of all KPI's
- Enjoy a hands on role with variety, this is not an office type job!
- Enjoy being creative in the role as you will have flexibility to make positive changes and ideas listened to
- Two years hotel management experience
- Speak fluent English
