Your new company

Please note that I am currently recruiting for 2 different roles with the same client, the other being a Health & Safety Officer position at £30,000 DOE in Portsmouth.

Working exclusively with Hays Health and Safety, my client are focused on delivering exceptional service to clients and customers across the south coast of England. They provide professional, safe and high-quality construction, refurbishment, and maintenance services across southern England and London. They are a successful, progressive business who have implemented a 5 year plan to double in size by 2021. The company are proud to have secured 4 new maintenance contracts in the past 12 months' worth over £25m in addition to an impressive existing portfolio.

Your new role

You will support the Head of HSE in the delivery of the Health, Safety, and Environmental Strategy promoting a positive and collaborative approach to improve behaviours and culture, whilst ensuring the Company complies and adheres to all current legislation, policies and procedures. You will also offer support and guidance to the H&S Officer as required.

Working hours are 8am-5pm, Monday-Friday with an hour lunch break.

What you'll need to succeed

A GRAD IOSH member working towards CMIOSH is preferred, but not essential. You must have at least 5 years experience in providing HSE advice within the construction and building sectors. In addition, a NEBOSH General and/or Construction Certificate is required. You must have strong knowledge of current HSE legislation and experience in a similar health and safety role (Business Partner/HSE Manager). Behavioural safety experience and a teaching/training qualification will be an advantage too. This is a largely mobile role (approx. 30% office/70% site based) so a driving licence is essential.

As mentioned above, training members of the team is a key part of this role, so you will be expected to deliver internal courses including: Qualified to deliver internal courses on Asbestos, Manual Handling, Working at Heights, Face fit, Asbestos Removal, Abrasive Wheels, RAMS, and Incident investigation & Root Cause Analysis
