Our client is an international, award winning electrical & mechanical components company based in a smart office and warehouse in Tunbridge Wells, Kent. They are seeking a hardworking, reliable and efficient Technical Support Assistant for a full time, permanent vacancy.

Job Summary: Working closely with the Technical Support Engineer(s) assisting with day to day technical support activities including resolution of product operational issues, code creations, BOM maintenance, repair of returned non-functioning products, and provision of technical support to the Production Department including the creation and maintenance of work methods.

Duties and Responsibilities

1)Assist Technical Support Engineers in the provision of a 'front-line’ technical support resource to customers requiring assistance in resolving product issues of a technical nature.

2)Perform analysis of electro-mechanical equipment to determine its condition/operational performance.

3)Repair of non-functional electro-mechanical equipment returned by customers.

4)Provide Sales/Accounting with cost of repair data or other information as necessary and maintain all repairprocessdocuments as specified by Quality Assurance/Engineering procedures.

5)Enter relevantrepair record historyinformation into a computer database.

6)Assist with the creation of MRP codes and maintenance of existing Bills of Materials.

7)Provide general technical support to the Production Department to ensure the correct assembly of product.

8)Create Work Methods and procedures designed to eliminate assembly issues and improve/ensure product'quality’.

9)Assist other Departmentsas required including the Production Department to ensure the assembly of products is achieved on schedule at times of high demand.


  • Higher education engineering diploma or equivalent.
  • Practical job aptitude and skills gained with a minimum of two years prior related work experience
  • Good written and verbal communication skills plus computer literacy.
  • Familiar with the use of PCs and basic electronic equipment, such as voltage meters, soldering irons, etc.
  • A degree of familiarity with document handling procedures is desirable.
  • Must work well in a team environment without supervision.
