Group Accountant - International Operations

This is a great opportunity to join a market leading compoany as Group Accountant. Reporting to the Financial Controller the role is dedicated to the preparation of group management accounts and reporting, production of the annual business plan, group forecasting, ensuring a robust control framework for finance operations and undertaking ad-hoc projects.

The role, which is ideally suited to a qualified accountant (ACA or equivalent) with prior experience of consolidated group reporting and a high degree of technical capability and commercial acumen will include the following responsibilities:

  • Preparation of monthly consolidated management accounts for international operations

  • Financial reporting to a stringent timetable (thus requiring strong relationship management skills to ensure adherence from regional FD’s) including flash reporting, variance analysis and board pack presentation.

  • Preparation of group budgets and business plans with quarterly reforecasting

  • Supporting the Financial Controller with the preparation of statutory accounts and returns (including Tax calculations) and liaising with external auditors

  • Undertaking projects to enhance the financial reporting structure and ensuring compliance across the group to accounting policies and procedures.

  • Supporting the business in developing financial information and reporting tools to ensure that the group is able to make well informed commercial decisions

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate excellent technical accounting and systems competency, likely to have been gained in a commercial environment (i.e. if trained in Public Practice you will have had a post qualification move or secondment into industry) including international consolidations, financial analysis and modelling skills - ideally with Cognos or similar. In addition you will be agile and adaptable to rapidly changing priorities in a group that is growing quickly organically and by acquisition. This high profile role will require excellent communication skills and the ability to support and influence senior management.
