The accounts assistant will be responsible for processing high volume invoices, recording transactions and reconciliations, undertaking a wide variety of accounting and administrative responsibilities

Duties

Handling supplier/ customer invoices on a daily basis ensuring matching to purchase orders and delivery notes. Returning all invalid documents as and when necessary. Liaising with other departments for any queries on customer deliveries etc

Processing invoices via an accounting system within a specified time frame

Monitor and review supplier/ customer accounts with prompt resolution of queries

Ensuring all invoices are filed accurately and timely

Answering supplier/ customer phone calls and resolving queries

Reconciliation of supplier statements/ produce customer statements within a specified time

Reconcile the purchase / sales ledger to the general ledger on a monthly basis

Process banking and cash receipts

Assist in the preparation of bank reconciliations

Dealing with incoming and outgoing post

Other Ad Hoc tasks as and when the business requires

Skills

Understanding of the workings of an office

Good understanding of Microsoft excel and word

Self motivated and able to work independently

Excellent interpersonal skills - to deal with customers and external contacts

Good organisational skills and ability to work to , and sometimes implement own process

Accounts department background / knowledge would be desirable

This is a full time position however we would consider a part time qualified, experienced person
