Your new firm
You will be joining an independent accountancy firm based in Dudley, West Midlands. This firm has 4 directors and an established team of 20 members of staff.
Your new role
Your role will be varied as you'll be expected to complete a range of accounting and bookkeeping duties including statutory accounts, management accounts, tax returns, VAT returns etc. You will be working on one company so you will build up a strong working relationship through regular client engagement. It is expected that the majority of your role will be office based and you'll be working within the wider accounts team.
Within this role there is also the chance to build and grow the firm's outsourced accounts function as this is becoming increasingly popular within the accountancy profession. You'll be working with cloud based software such as Xero and Quickbooks and you'll be required to complete client's bookkeeping online.
What you'll need to succeed
It is essential that you have experience of working within an accountancy firm in a bookkeeping and/or accounts focused role. You will demonstrate excellent communication skills and show evidence of working with a portfolio of clients across different business sectors. Those applicants with a mixed industry and practice background will be considered.
It would be beneficial to have an understanding of cloud based software and have evidence of using it to complete client's bookkeeping but this is not essential.
It is expected that you'll be AAT Qualified as a minimum and applicants can either be 'Qualified by Experience' or studying towards their ACA/ACCA Qualification.
What you'll get in return
You will be joining an excellent local practice that can offer you a modern, open plan office environment with free on-site parking for all staff. The staff regularly partake in social activities meaning you'll quickly become part of the team and build strong working relationships - the firm has a very low staff turnover showing the degree in which they nurture and look after their staff. Working hours are 9-5 with 1 hour for lunch and you'll receive 25 days holiday + statutory.
The role itself could offer huge progression potential as you'll have the opportunity to grasp and grow the outsourced accounting function which could open up a whole new area for the firm. You'll feel a high level of autonomy in what you do which will motivate and encourage you.
Active studiers will receive full study support.
