Duties and Responsibilities: Reporting To Tooling Team Leader, The Toolmaker will be Responsible for the Manufacture of jigs, fixtures, tools and press tooling in accordance with Drawings, and, contribute and work in a team environment in the Tool Room department. Ideally you will be willing to apply lean tools and activities throughout the job function and continually strive to bring new methodologies and technology into the business.
Key areas of responsibly includes :
A Competent in the use of manual engineering machines, Centre Lathe, Milling machine, Surface Grinders and general fitting skills
The use of Autocad or similar CAD tools to interrogate designs where required
Carry out tool repairs to multistage progression tools and second operation tools and fixtures along with the modifications of existing tools, where required, to improve production processes
The Assist in the company continuous improvement programs and the ability to fault find in multistage progressive tooling will be a key area of the position
The right candidate will be Aiding the design and manufacture of punch tools for various types of press tool equipment as well as being Involved in the repair and preventative maintenance of existing tooling
You will be responsible for inspecting finished product to Engineering Drawings
Skills & Experience: The ideal candidate will have an engineering apprenticeship, preferably as a toolmaker, or equivalent training, having experience in milling, turning, grinding and fitting skills. You will also be able to work from drawings and to specific Standards. You will have experience in a similar role to enable a quick and smooth transition into the position.
Hours of Work: 8.00am - 5.00pm, Monday - Thursday, 8.00am - 4.00pm Friday, ½ hr lunch (Lunch to be taken between 12.30pm and 2.00pm)
Salary : Circa £29 - 32,000 depending on experience
