Product Analyst / Product Planner

Automotive Engine Components

A Product Analyst with knowledge of vehicle parts is required to join the aftermarket division of a branded global manufacturer and supplier of automotive components. We are seeking an analytical Planner to support with New Product Introduction (NPI), competitor and market analysis, cataloging and managing the product lifecycle.

West Yorkshire Based - Commutable from Leeds, Huddersfield, Wakefield, Halifax, Barnsley, Rochdale, Keighley, Burnley, Harrogate, Dewsbury,

Circa £25-30k Basic + Pension

The Role

Reporting to the Product Manager for commercial vehicle and heavy duty engine components, the Product Analyst will:

  • Ensure the catalogue is up to date
  • Conduct market research on a Global scale to support product strategy.
  • Write NPI announcements and work with the Brand Manager to announce product launches to the global customer base.
  • Assist with and respond to all product enquiries from sales colleagues and customers.
  • Carry out competitor analysis, including researching competitor OE and aftermarket catalogues, pricing and component information to support gap analysis and new part additions.
  • Assist with the management of products throughout all stages of the lifecycle.
  • Research market pricing and work with the pricing team to execute pricing strategy.
  • Create NPI and support material including bulletins and product information.
  • Support the catalogue production process, in particular data checking, data cleansing and proof reading.

The Candidate

  • You will have previous experience in a Product Marketing, Management or Analyst role, ideally within an automotive aftermarket or replacement vehicle parts
  • Our ideal candidate will be degree educated in either Business Management, Automotive Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or associated / equivalent qualifications.
  • Knowledge of SAP based systems is essential.
  • Experience in the creation and use of spreadsheets, databases and presentations is required.
  • Strong PC skills, in particular Microsoft Office and Microsoft Access
  • Excellent communication skills both written and spoken are a must
  • Advantageous, is an interest in the automotive industry with a good level of engine
  • You must be organised, with a keen eye for detail.
