Deputy Manager required for a children’s home in Coalville, Leicestershire.

The Deputy Manager would be responsible for supporting the Registered Manager in a small group home alongside a committed team of Support Workers and our client are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic applicant with senior level experience to support the Manager in this role.

Responsibilities would include:

- Being accountable for delivering high quality care to the children and young people resident within the home.
- Being responsible for delivery of all care services, as well as the strategic planning for developments within the home, and all day to day management matters.
- They will demonstrate the ability to build on the well established principles and practice standards existing within the group and proactively contribute to the continuous improvement of childcare standards across the company.
- delivering childcare that is focused on obtaining the best outcomes for each child and young person within the home. Consequently, they are expected to demonstrate practical leadership in childcare, as well as organise and support staff to provide the best possible care for each child and young person. This involves being personally available, as well as the supervision and mentoring of staff, organisation of work patterns, facilitation of care focused training, and accessing of appropriate services to support the childcare practices within the home.

As this is a vital role in the lives of children and young people cared for, it requires an active and long term commitment.

The Assistant Manager is expected to participate in the rota and work on shift as and when directed to by the Registered Manager.

The Children\'s Deputy Home Manager must have:

- NVQ Level 3 in caring for children and young people (or equivalent)
- 3 years experience working within residential childcare (Ofsted requirement)
- Prior experience at senior level within a residential children's home
- Excellent knowledge and track record with Ofsted
- Passion for delivering the highest quality care for young people
- Strong team leadership skills and motivational qualities

In return our client is offering:

- A generous salary £20280 up to £26k per annum pro-rata including sleep-ins on base rate of 39hours per week. Actual hours are determined by the monthly rota and will include weekend-work, sleep-ins (see below) and one full weekend off per month.
- 20 days holidays pro-rata - You will be required to work bank holidays and Christmas and New Year holidays, enabling the children and young people in our care to be supported through, essentially, family orientated occasions. In recognition of your commitment around these occasions Christmas Day and Boxing Day and from 8.00pm New Years Eve to 8.00 am New Years day will be paid at normal rate plus £6 per hour.If you are not required to work during a Bank holiday you will receive a payment of 7.8 hours calculated at your basic hourly salary rate.
