Assistant Tax Manager role with a large well known Financial Services in Edinburgh. Great opportunity for a newly qualified accountant looking to expand their knowledge of tax, and progress within an organisation

As an Assistant Tax Manager within the Edinburgh office your role will be mainly advisory focussed. You will work closely with the Head of Tax to deliver a high quality tax service to the wider business whilst building up your own knowledge and expertise in the tax department. Your primary focus will be on managing client relationships and delivering a high quality tax service.

Job Role
* Managing a portfolio of clients, including acting as one of the main points of contact for the client and liaising with other advisers
* Providing tax numbers for month & year end
* Reviewing tax returns, correspondence and advice drafted by other members of the team
* CT61 reporting
* Migration towards UK systems
* Maintaining an up-to-date technical knowledge of all tax including employee, corporate and operational

Person Specification
* Newly qualified accountant from ideally, a small to mid tier firm
* Previous tax experience ideal; tax accounting knowledge would be necessary
* Strong client handling skills and the ability to develop good relationships with clients and other professionals
* Excellent communication skills both oral and written
* Adaptable, organised with a commercial approach
* Ability to exercise judgement
* Ability to help generate creative solutions to problems
* Ability to demonstrate an understanding of risk management issues
* Demonstrates business development skills and has started to build a network of intermediaries
