Manpower are currently working with an organisation in Rugby who are looking to introduce a Quality Engineer to their existing team on a full time permanent basis.

Responsibilities as a Quality Engineer within this organisation involve 8D Problem Solving and Process Improvements. Recording, investigating and disposition internal rejections (RACARs) and technical customer returns using the 8D methodology. Coach other employees in the use of 4D and 8D problem solving techniques and resolution of day-to-day issues. You will also conduct and analyse SPC, Capability Studies and recommend process improvements and lead problem solving and process improvement teams, defining objectives and maintaining action plans.

The Quality Engineer will also be involved with training production operators in the correct use of relevant measuring equipment ensuring adequate gauging systems are used in production. Conduct Gauge R&R studies to ensure that measurement systems used in production meet the required standards and create work instructions for the correct use of measurement systems. As part of an investment in R&D you will research and recommend new technology in measuring techniques ensuring that all measurement and process control systems meet the requirements of the Quality Management System (e.g. AMS 2750D Pyrometry, Brankamps).

The Quality Engineer will train production operators for first off approval, including dimensional checks and metallurgical examinations and provide ongoing technical training to Quality Support Function.

Auditing is a critical part of this role and it is your responsibility as a Quality Engineer to conduct spot checks and participate in internal and external audits in accordance with the Quality Management System. Also close out Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) arising from internal or external audits.
