Our client is a members golf club set in the Surrey countryside in Guildford, Surrey. The Club provides F&B, functions and events for its members, local businesses and private guests.

The Club is looking to recruit their Sous Chef / 2nd Chef to assist the Head Chef in driving forward service and standards. The candidate must be able to demonstrate their experience, enthusiasm and dedication, as well as having a desire to learn, progress and a 'can do' attitude. The candidate needs to be confident in their ability and be able to work under pressure and on their own in the absence of the Head Chef.

The Sous Chef role will include management of the kitchen when the head chef is absent, running functions, supplier ordering, call orders, food safety and staff supervision / development, as well as any other duties or tasks related to the running of a busy kitchen. You will be working closely with the Head Chef to further improve the department's quality and service levels, while also assisting with HACCP, the implementation of H&S procedures, and ensuring that the kitchen is clean and meets safety standards at all times.

Key requirements for the Sous Chef role are:
*Previous experience within a busy kitchen
*Good Knowledge of HACCP, Food Safety and H&S Requirements
*Ability to work within a team as well as on their own
*Previous staff supervision preferred
*Flexibility to work unsocial hours to meet the needs of the
business
*A conscientious, flexible 'can-do' working style
*Good social and interpersonal skills
*A desire to learn and progress the role and be able to lead by example
*A strong work ethic and the ability to use initiative

This Sous Chef role would suit a strong Chef De Partie looking for a step up within a 2nd Chef role.

The role will involve weekday, evening and weekend shifts as part of the department rota- straight shift patterns however.
