Brand new permanent IT Project Manager opportunity working for a global Insurance company based in the Birmingham office.

Responsibilities
To manage the full project lifecycle to deliver more efficient and scalable systems according to the needs of the business, potentially managing multiple projects at the same time. This will involve managing the delivery of key components, integrations or entire systems and the appropriate management of all people and processes required to complete these tasks.

Key Responsibilities:
Ensure that the assigned projects have clear goals aligned with the businesses teams' strategy and objectives, in line with the Target Operating Model.
Define, document and manage objectives, scope, deliverables, assumptions, constraints, dependencies, plan, budget, quality criteria, success criteria, risks and issues on an ongoing basis.
Ensure the business team(s) are involved appropriately in the definition, acceptance testing and use of the new system and/or process.
Ensure that the project is managed according to any agreed standards and achieves defined success criteria wherever possible.
Ensure that all staff within the project have clear roles and responsibilities, communicated using the appropriate tools, and provide feedback on their performance as part of the appraisal process.
Coordinate with PMO to ensure project status is appropriate and processes are being followed, so as to deliver projects in the most effective and efficient manner.
Ensure that the required level of business and IT resource is available for successful completion of the project.
Work with other Project Managers and Business Analysts to explore synergies and dependencies between projects, in order to identify and avoid issues, and to maximise reuse and coordination of effort to achieve a greater business benefit.
Provide project updates in the required format to the key project stakeholders.
Run the relevant Steering Groups to ensure communication of progress and major issues/decisions are addressed.
Act as the escalation path for any of the projects on behalf of the assigned project team members and manage any issue resolution with the relevant business owner(s).
Ensure that the production of a Cost Benefit Analysis is completed in conjunction with the relevant business sponsor where required.

Knowledge and Experience
A proven track record of delivering complex solutions and/or multiple project work streams across business and IT within the financial services industry, and preferably within the insurance sector.
A proven track record of delivering IT projects, covering the use of internal resources, third party (packaged) solutions and outsourced services.
A proven track record of delivering system integration projects.
Budget Management of projects exceeding £1M.
Use of various analysis and project management frameworks covering scope definition, planning, budgeting, reporting, management of risks and issues.
