SVG Developer / Graphic Designer - Havant, Portsmouth

Our client’s products lead the market of retail photo kiosks and online photo ordering systems.

This decade more photos have been taken than in the rest of history combined. Last year, around one trillion photos were taken and new mobile technology is fuelling the boom. Our client helps the photo industry keep up.

They are looking for talented people to help build solutions for some of the world’s biggest brands. Their team finds innovative ways to solve complex problems, keeps development cycles fast and invests in a culture of learning. They still have a startup-like openness to ideas but also a market-tested and profitable product line.

You will join around 80 other staff members, based in comfortable offices located in a conservation area. Trains are 5 mins away and it’s a 15 min walk to the sea. They have breakout areas, a games room, free parking, sizable garden, fitness suite, company yacht, plenty of musical instruments, modern kitchens, copious nerf guns and much more. The Ideal Candidate

  • You are experienced working with complex systems and processes
  • You possess a meticulous nature, adhere to high standards and always test your work carefully
  • You are organised; able to manage your time and workload effectively
  • You are a strong communicator and work well in a team environment

You should apply if you have already achieved...

  • A client-facing role, in which you dealt directly with a variety of customers
  • Considerable creation of Scalable Vector Graphics in Inkscape (much preferred) or Adobe Illustrator
  • Regular amendment of artwork using Adobe Photoshop, Gimp or ImageMagick
  • Competent amendment of XML using Sublime Text (preferred) or an alternative text editor
  • Confident use of Linux-based systems such as Lubuntu
  • Use of a Git source code management system, maintaining repositories using the command-line
  • Basic Mathematical skills and the ability to take precise measurements, with a view to making accurate virtual representations of physical products

It’s a considerable bonus if you have experience of...

  • A client-facing role; in which you dealt personally with a large contract (household name)
  • Further scripting such as Ruby, Pearl, Python, SED and Bash
