Job Description: Credit Control Assistant

Job Summary:

Reporting into the Credit Control Manager the Credit Control Assistant is responsible for supporting the effective collection and earliest possible settlement of accounts, to improve cash flow and minimise bad debt exposure.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide administrative support to colleagues in the Credit Control team

Deal with customer enquiries and query resolution process

Liaise with internal departments to ensure the prompt resolution of queries

Chase clients by telephone, email and letter

Maintain and build relationships with customers to ensure collection objectives are met

Highlight and report potential credit risks

Produce and manipulate Excel workbooks

Identify and participate in continuous improvement initiatives

Employees may be assigned other duties, in addition to, or in lieu of those described above, per the needs of the Company

Knowledge, Skills and Competencies:

Knowledge: (job related / professional)

Experience in an office environment, credit control function desirable

5 year checkable work history

IT literate - Word/Excel (intermediate) /MS Outlook/Sage (other accounting packages a bonus)

Minimum 5 GCSE’s A - C or equivalent

Skills: (technical / managerial)

Eager to learn / progress career within Credit Control

The ability to work to strict deadlines

Takes ownership and responsibility of assigned tasks

Organised and methodical

Excellent attention to detail

Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

Calm under pressure

Excellent mathematical skills

Positive, friendly and firm approach

Annual Basic Salary: Starting £20K
