Our client’s capability spans the complete commercial and personal lines insurance lifecycle, including the London Market. They are now seeking an experienced insurance sales professional to join this specialist Bristol based team as a New Business Insurance Consultant

About the Role:

Working as a New Business Insurance Consultant, you will be required to maximise new business sales performance and all revenue opportunities whilst providing effective customer service.

Your duties as New Business Insurance Consultant will be varied and will include;

  • Taking responsibility for a specific allocated area/region through a combination of mainly telephone based sales but occasionally face to face sales (visiting clients)
  • Phoning clients to create initial interest and to establish if they would benefit from this very niche industry specific insurance product
  • Taking incoming calls
  • Collect the required data from clients to pass on to insurers to enable them to quote
  • Email Insurers with the data to ensure that premiums are competitive
  • Formulate quotes
  • Present quotes, discussing the cover and converting the sale - either over the phone or in person
  • Provide clients with relevant product information that is clear, fair and not misleading
  • Make own appointments to present to groups of clients
  • Cross - selling and upselling other products
  • Understand and be able to explain policy cover
  • Establish and develop strong working relationships with clients and colleagues alike
  • Develop and maintain a competent level of technical products and systems knowledge
  • Deliver on targets

Key Skills/Experience Required:

In order to be considered for the position of New Business Insurance Consultant you must possess the following:

  • Previous success gained from a new business sales position (ideally a regulated environment)
  • Insurance sales experience would be desirable
  • Results orientated mentality/target driven
  • Strong and effective communication skills
  • The ability to work well as part of a team
  • Able to build and maintain good working relationships
  • Experience of working in a customer service environment
  • Knowledge of insurance products and principles
  • A minimum of 5 GCSE’s (or equivalent) at grades A-C including English & Maths

Salary/Benefits Information:

In return for your role as New Business Insurance Consultant you will receive;

Basic salary up to £35,000 p.a (DOE)
