Role: We are currently recruiting an Occupational Therapist to work 40 hours per week Monday to Friday across two sites.
Contract Type: 6 months (maternity cover)
Location: Sherwood Lodge, Sherwood Lodge, Rufford Colliery Lane, Rainworth, Mansfield, NG21 0HR and The Manor, Central Drive, Shirebrook, Nottinghamshire, NG20 8BA
Salary/Benefits: £26,000 - £35,000 (DOE)

If yes, this is the role for you! CAS behavioural health is a UK provider of specialist adult services in mental health rehabilitation and learning disabilities.

Sherwood Lodge is CQC rated ‘Outstanding’ specialist learning disability hospital that provides an intensive mental health rehabilitation service for 26 males (18+) with learning disabilities, associated mental health conditions and/or forensic histories. Similarly, The Manor provides intensive mental health rehabilitation service for up to 20 male patients (18+) with learning disabilities, associated mental health conditions and/or forensic histories. You will be working as part of a multidisciplinary team at both sites to provide innovative and person centred treatment pathways that promote community reintegration.

Job Role

You will work alongside a full Multidisciplinary Team including support workers, nursing staff, psychiatrists and psychologists and Therapy Coordinators. You will provide quality assessments and interventions within the Model of Human Occupation and according to the Valuing People principles. To be responsible for delivering group and one to one sessions is also a key requirement of this role, with the aim of supporting patients to achieve their maximum level of independence.

About You

The successful candidate for this role will have a degree or a postgraduate diploma in Occupational Therapy and be registered with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC).

We are looking for someone who can take a “hands on” approach who is a strong team player and excellent communication and time management skills. You will provide quality assessments and interventions within the Model of Human Occupation. Knowledge of the care programme approach, risk assessment and clinical governance frameworks will prove advantageous.

Specific Requirement

This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and we are committed to safeguarding and protecting the people within our care. Therefore, the successful candidate will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check and an offer of employment will be subject to successful clearance.
