My client a long established manufacturing/engineering organisation are seeking a Quality Engineer.
The Quality Engineer plans, executes, and supports activities to maintain and improve the company quality system to assure business, and manufacturing processes, inspection methods and quality documentation meets or exceeds established Quality Policy and customer’s requirements.The Quality Engineer will monitor processes, and initiate improvements focused on lowering overall costs of quality and meeting customer satisfaction demands by performing the following duties:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The responsibilities of this position fall into three main areas: Quality management, Customer Support, Process Implementation and Improvement.
·Supports/leads continunous improvement activities by investigating and analyzing causes of scrap, rework and warranty to determine root cause; develop/and assist with implementation of improvement actions to improve quality of product/process.
·Interface with all business functions and departments to assure QMS procedures meet the ISO standard. Maintain necessary ISO documents and quality records.
·Facilitate meetings with stakeholders on all shifts, to provide guidance and instruction on proper inspection methods, reporting procedures and problem solving techniques to follow up outstanding corrective actions.
·Audit and qualify vendors as part of a team to assure compliance with standards. Correspond with vendors regarding quality problems and necessary corrective actions to be implemented.
·Assist QC Technicians in performing processes required for Final Release of customer’s products.
·Develop and maintain internal quality KPIs. Analyze data and propose countermeasures for improvement.
·Develop and create written inspection procedures along with forms and instructions for recording and reporting quality data.
·Oversee calibration programs to evaluate precision and accuracy of production and testing/measurement equipment.
·Perform and review Internal Quality Audits.
·Create Management reports.
·Maintain close contact with customers, to assure the company is meeting or exceeding customer’s expectations. Document and communicate customer’s concerns to appropriate departments.Develop internal training programs to support customer’s requirements.
·Participate in customer alliance initiatives. Develop metrics and document customer quality KPIs when required.
·Prepare professional correspondence to customers, suppliers and vendors regarding quality issues and coordinate required actions to resolve issues.
·Customer returns processing in conjunction with the Purchasing department.
Process Implementation and Improvement
·Prepares and delivers training on quality concepts/tools, as well as advance problem solving methodologies.
·Collaborate with Quality Manager and Quality team to share knowledge of quality issues and develop robust corrective actions to enhance/improve overall company quality. Develop and support standards and methods for inspection, testing and evaluation of raw materials, work in-process and finished products.
·Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering and Design to improve manufacturing processes with objective to stabilize or increase process capabilities.

·Requires a Degree in either quality, engineering, manufacturing or other relevant discipline.
III.SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
·Demonstratable experience in use and application of inspection, testing and measuring equipment.
·Working knowledge of CMMs
·Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing philosophies and tools.
·Familiar with a variety of Quality field concepts, practices, and procedures, including problem solving techniques such as PDCA, FMEA and Root Cause Analysis.
·Working knowledge and understanding of ISO:9001 and ISO:14001 requirements and procedures.
·Strong analytical and critical thinking skills. Ability to clearly define problems; collect data; and draw valid conclusions.
·Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific, technical journals and manufacturing drawings.
·Excellent technical writing skills to effectively correspond with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
·Knowledge of machining processes, metrology, and metallurgy.
·PC literate. Must be able to use Microsoft Office package to intermediate levels (i.e. graph, formula, data colletion and interpretation) and Business Management Systems.
·Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and procedures.
