Mitrem Recruitment is working closely with a reputable glazing firm based in Exeter, who are currently trying to secure quality candidates for several Sales Manager jobs as well as an Estimator role. Our client specialises in aluminium glazing products and has been a staple name within the area for over 35 years.

Due to their success, they're now expanding and look to adopt fresh talent to work in several critical areas within the business. The company boast a rich history of successful projects, with many of them contributing to high-end retail and commercial redesigns. Due to the nature of these roles, the family-run business requires someone with existing industry knowledge within glazing and construction.

Sales Manager: £25k - £35k DOE (OTE £40k)

The work of the Sales Manager will be carried out within the showroom and it'll be their job lead a small yet successful team of sales professionals to generate new deals and enhance the customer experience. The team will be selling a range of aluminium and UPVC glazing solutions to retail customers, so an understanding of glazing products as well as market insight is desirable.

A familiarity with current Building Regulation and Health & Safety regulation is important because the Sales Manager is expected to take account of commercial and installation considerations. A fine balance between a motivational and strategic mind is needed, as the successful candidate will be working closely with the Marketing Manager to roll out new promotions and products.


- Support and lead the showroom team to generate new sales.

- Consultative, solution-based selling to retail customers.

- Involvement in the processing of orders - coordinating with the Sales Estimators.

- Ideally you will be conversant with architectural drawings and in particular, factors attached to implementing Aluminium, PVCU and Timber products.

- Some specific product training will be provided.

- Experience of using customer databases and the ability to use a CAD system would be desirable.

Technical Sales Manager: £35k-£40k DOE (OTE £45k)

The Technical Sales Manager is responsible for visiting customers as well as Architects to discuss, advise and consult on the best solution ahead of glazing projects. Much of the business' success comes through architect enquiries, so the ability to understand technical requirements and confidently issue solutions is essentials.

Work will be carried out in Exeter as well as surrounding areas in the South West. Being a self-starter, brand ambassador is important and impressive communication skills is a must. As much of the work will be addressing the initial stages of project work, the Technical Sales Manager will need to produce quotations, follow up with customers and try to close deals.

The successful applicant will need to be comfortable interpreting architects drawings, have a knowledge of current Building Regulation and Health & Safety legislation as well as prior experience dealing with aluminium windows and doors including bi-folds and UPVC items.


- Become the technical advisor and seller of the business' glazing solutions.

- Confident liaising with architects and understanding project drawings.

- Prior experience surveying similar products is advantageous.

- Fantastic communicator, well organised and consultative.

- Some specific product training will be provided.

Trade Sales Manager: £20k - £30k DOE

The company's Trade Sales division is growing rapidly and has recently expanded to its bespoke state-of-the-art premises. They are now looking for a Trade Sales Manager to offer product and technical consultation, accurate quoting and the on-time delivery of services . A proven track record of working to targets and deadlines is essential, as it will be the job of the Trade Sales Manager to maintain the interests of well-established customers as well as generate new leads elsewhere.

A clear communicator that can build rapport at every level is vital. A prior understanding of aluminium windows, glazing, bi-folding doors as well as lift and slide doors would be a desirable attribute for anyone applying. As a Trade Sales Manager it is also required that you'll be comfortable with B2B solution-based selling. Having experience in the glazing industry (ideally aluminium products) is a must, although some specific product training will be provided.
