An opportunity to join an established financial services practice as part of a growing team specialising in providing audit and advisory services to the insurance market. They are now looking to strengthen their regulatory centre of excellence within the team and are looking for a regulatory compliance professional seeking a move to a professional services firm or a regulatory compliance professional with existing consulting experience. This is a unique opportunity to develop a specialist practice, offering excellent prospects for career advancement.

The role will include:

  • Assisting with business development. Activities will include:
    • Identifying, researching and analysing the impact of new regulation
    • Identifying client needs and developing service propositions
    • Creating marketing collateral
    • Working on proposals for new business
    • Supporting the delivery of pitches for potential new business
  • Planning, organising and delivering regulatory assignments within your areas of expertise and assisting other teams to deliver regulatory assignments in other areas
  • Providing advice and expertise to clients on regulatory matters. Advice may be delivered orally or in the form of a written report
  • Preparation of reports outlining findings and recommendations from assignments
  • Providing support to other teams within the financial services practice on regulatory matters. Other teams may include internal/external audit, tax, actuarial and consulting
  • Supporting the development of the REGCOE team

You will need to have:

  • Strong experience in a specialist risk/regulatory/internal audit/compliance department within a professional services firm or experience working within a compliance team within the financial services industry
  • Experience in delivering regulatory advisory projects across the regulatory spectrum
  • Familiarity with prudential and conduct regulation with experience in one or more of the following areas:
    • Applications and authorisation
    • Risk management
    • Governance and culture
    • Financial crime (AML / ABC)
    • Conduct of business
    • Regulatory reporting
    • Client assets
    • Solvency II / Basel III / CRD IV
  • Experience working in, or with clients in the financial services industry
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Desire to actively seek expertise and knowledge of regulatory issues impacting on the financial services industry. Successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to self development
  • Proven capacity to analyse and understand issues and develop practical solutions
  • Ability to manage time effectively and work well with others in a team
