Associate Bid Consultant/Copywriter

Working with customers across the UK, Germany and Belgium, our client’s consultants provide the strategy, methodologies and bidding capability to help their customers to win almost £500m of new contracts per annum.
This is a demanding, exciting role and fulfilling role, operating with a high degree of autonomy and supported with continual training and mentoring to ensure that the successful candidate progresses as fast as possible.
The Associate’s role will be focused on helping customers to win more of their bids for major Public Sector and Private Sector Tenders.
After extensive in-house training, responsibilities will include:
- Auditing and shadow scoring clients draft bids;
- Editing and rewriting clients’ bids to make them more compliant and compelling;
- Project managing responses to Tenders on behalf of clients;
- Helping clients to qualify Tenders, highlighting areas of weakness and developing mitigation measures.
Personal aptitudes/ requirements
Mastering the brief quickly and comprehensively is perhaps the most essential skill necessary for any Management Consultant. In this role, it involves rapidly researching an opportunity to understand the client’s business, the business of the client’s customer and the industry that they both operate in.
You will then need to call on excellent reasoning skills - able to construct and articulate an argument for or against a certain subject.
It is essential that the successful candidate is well organised and possesses excellent English and writing skills to swiftly write elegant, accurate and compelling reports and responses to tenders. A level English Language or English Literature is mandatory.
Finally you will need to be able to control both the speed and the quality of your (and eventually the team’s) output and so planning and project management skills are required so that you are able to track your deliverables as well as the deliverables of the entire bid team.
The remuneration package has been structured to support the company ethos of work hard, play hard. Bonuses are uncapped to reward effort and ability, whilst an industry leading holiday allowance provides candidates with the time to really unwind and enjoy themselves.
- Base Salary to £23,000
- Bonus: Target of 12.5%, open ended and based on a combination of team and individual KPIs
- 28 days holiday per annum: 8 bank holidays + 2 weeks at Christmas and 3 weeks during the rest of the year.
