We are currently recruiting for a full time Sales Consultant to join our busy Wine Tours Operations team.
Established in 1987, Arblaster & Clarke is widely recognised as the leader in the field of wine tours. The full programme offered features escorted wine tours to nearly 30 countries led by leading figures from the wine trade and by bi-lingual tour managers.
We pride ourselves on giving clients a great holiday experience from the moment they first contact us, whilst maintaining excellent relationships with our suppliers. The key to this is the team in our office who do all the "back-stage" work to deliver great holidays to our clients.
The successful candidate will be commercially minded, highly organised and have an eye for the details that make holidays truly memorable. The ability to multi-task, work quickly and accuracy is also paramount.
The successful applicant should be an energetic and enterprising person who has an interest in travel, wine and archaeology. The candidate should be computer-literate, well-organised and enjoys working with people. Experience in sales and/or in the travel industry would be highly desirable. You should be self-motivated but also target driven, have attention to detail, be used to prioritising workloads and taking responsibility.
A flexible approach is required to respond to the unexpected and deal with this in the most efficient way. The ability to work well as both part of a team and as an individual is essential, as is a proactive approach to work. Experience of working with databases is preferred but not vital (training provided). Excellent written and spoken English is also essential as a large part of the position involves speaking to customers on the telephone or by email.
Reporting to the Sales Manager, you will be responsible for actively searching for new sales, and providing excellent customer service, both by email and on the telephone. You will play a key role in securing new customers and retaining existing customers.
Initial and ongoing training and support will be provided to this role by the Sales Manager and the existing team.
